Chicago Tribune: Peterson arrested on murder warrant

Former Bolingbrook police sergeant Drew Peterson was arrested this afternoon in connection with the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, according to authorities.

On March 1, 2004, Savio, 40, was discovered by neighbors in her Bolingbrook home in an empty bathtub with a 1-inch gash on the back of her scalp.

Savio and Peterson were divorced but the details of the divorce settlement were weeks away from being finalized when she died.

An autopsy at the time determined she drowned, and a coroner's jury ruled months later--based largely off the testimony of state police--that the death was accidental.

Authorities reopened Savio's case after Peterson's fourth wife, Stacy, disappeared in October 2007.

Somebody needs to save Christina Raines from Drew Peterson, her father, her boyfriend and herself

Reports out of Bolingbrook appearing in the the Chicago Sun-Times, Joliet Herald News and Chicago Tribune are indicating that Christina Raines has moved back in with suspected wife murderer and Mancow's new best friend Drew Peterson. Raines who is or was allegedly engaged to Peterson (we really don't know) is in dire need of help and more importantly a healthy relationship (not necessarily romantic either) and someone, ANYONE who truly cares about her and what is in her best interest. Let's look at what we know about the men in her life besides Peterson:

1) Her father--What type of example has Ernie Raines set for his daughter if she feels that Drew Peterson is marriage material? Ernie Raines seems more interested in publicity than he does the welfare of his daughter. Why else would he show up to Drew Peterson's house to retrieve his daughter with a TV crew from CBS? We aren't saying that he doesn't care about her, but he ENJOYS being part of the public drama that she is involved in. His behavior and conduct pretty much explains why Christina views Drew as husband material. We might be wrong about Mr. Raines but until he shows us that caring for and helping his daughter is more important than publicity

2) Her on again/off again boyfriend--What type of MOPE do you need to be to have your live in girlfriend leave you at least twice to move in and allegedly get in engaged to Drew "suspected wife murderer" Peterson? Our hope is that when and if Christina leaves Drew again that she does not reconcile and/or move back in with this guy. Think about it, if this guy is so bad that you leave him for Drew he is bad news. Additionally, we can't imagine that her previous reconciliations with this guy after her "romantic" entaglements with Drew are that healthy. It's tough enough reconciling with an "ex" after any break-up it has to be 1,000 times worse when Drew Peterson and national media are involved.

3) The father of her children--This guy is in out of jail. You would think with Christina Raines dragging her children into this mess, this guy would step up for the sake of his children, but like the other men her Christina's life this guy appears to be a simple MOPE.

With men like these in her life no wonder Christina Raines believes Drew Peterson might be a good catch.

Scum attracts scum. . .a bromance blossoms between Mancow and Drew Peterson

Is anyone surprised by Michael Sneed's report in today's Chicago Sun-Times that these two misogynistic idiots, Drew Peterson and Mancow Muller, are hanging out together? According to Sneed the two had dinner at a local restaurant and then were spotted partying backstage during a show at the House of Blues this past weekend.

We at Windy City Watch aren't. It is one thing to work a source, as Mancow might claim he is doing, but to do so in such a public manner that would appear to be an embrace is just disgusting. But has anyone really known Mancow to be anything but disgusting?

Granted working for WLS-AM as radio personality is not like working for respected news outlet like Chicago's NBC5 but didn't Amy Jacobson get canned for stuff like this? It should be noted that Jacobson was invited to

The Drew Peterson "engagement" saga is so bizarre

On the CBS's Early Show this morning Drew Peterson's former fiance, Christina Raines and her father Ernest, appeared to discuss her "engagement" to Drew Peterson. During the interview she called it a publicity stunt, but it would appear to us that Drew was not the only one seeking popularity.

What we don't understand is why Ernest Raines showed up at Drew's house accompanied by a crew from CBS NEWS, wearing a wireless microphone. Call us crazy but if this guy was so concerned about his daughter's well being why on earth we he have a news crew tag along. Was this whole saga a gambit for publicity on everyone's part?

Also, we think Christina Raines needs some serious help. Getting engaged to and living with Drew is problematic BUT so is moving back in with her ex-boyfriend after she left him to be with Peterson. We can't imagine that her relationship with her ex-boyfriend was all that healthy to begin with (considering she left him for Drew) and it will probably be worse after moving back in.
