Whoopi Goldberg stops short of calling Donald Trump a racist, she shouldn't have stopped

This morning on THE VIEW, Whoopi Goldberg came close to calling birthers and Donald Trump in particular racist. In a discussion with Trump about President Obama's birth certificate she finally asked him was it about race?

Goldberg: Donald, I think that’s the biggest pile of dog mess I’ve heard in ages! It’s not because he’s black, is it?

Trump: It has nothing to do with him being black.

Goldberg: Because I’ve never heard a white president being asked to show his birth certificate. That’s B.S.

It is long past time for folks to start calling birtherism what it is, racism, and birthers, including Trump, what they are, racist.

I know that is harsh, but the attempt to "other" President Obama by alleging he wasn't born here is nothing but dog whistle racism intended to imply that he is different and "not one of us."

Instead of the burden of proof being Obama to present a birth certificate, WHICH HE HAS DONE, the burden of proof should be on birthers to prove they are not racist.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck tries to attack Shirley Sherrod on THE VIEW and fails

While the rest of America understands that Shirley Sherrod was the victim of an attempted media lynching THE VIEW's Elisabeth Hasselbeck, most likely reading from a script provided by Sean Hannity, went on the attack. First she took issue with Sherrod stating her belief that some of the Republican opposition to Obama's health care plan was racist, then she questioned whether or not she violated the Hatch Act. Sherrod wasn't having it, at one point looking at her like she was a simple idiot before putting her in her place with a strong response.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck has more courage than John McCain and calls out Sarah Palin

Giving credit where it is due, Elisabeth Hasselbeck strongly condemns hateful rhetoric calls out Sarah Palin for her incendiary rhetoric in response to the health care vote. Also, Whoopi Goldberg draws a line in the sand and tells talking heads they will be held responsible for violence.

Earlier in the day John McCain REFUSED to condemn Palin on THE TODAY SHOW.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck attempts to justify teabagger racism & homophobia

Elisabeth Hasselbeck tried to explain the appalling behavior of the teabaggers who called John Lewis the n-word, Barney Frank the F-word and spit on Emanuel Cleaver, but the ladies of THE VIEW weren't having it. At one point Whoopi told her to just breath.

Chickenhawk Joe "Dead Intern" Scarborough decided to engage Jesse "The Body" Ventura on the torture debate.

"Joe Scarborough, the former Republican congressman from Florida who hosts hours of political talk on MSNBC each morning, says the former independent governor of Minnesota and big-time wrestler is fighting out of his weight class in the torture debate.

Ventura 'should stop smoking whatever he's been smoking,' Scarborough said at the anchor's desk of his Morning Joe show. 'It seriously should be a crime, to be that dumb on TV.'

It was people involved in the planning of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks against the United States who suffered the first round of waterboarding in CIA interrogations, Scarborough said -- not Muslims randomly taken from mosques. "I respect people who say it is immoral,'' Scarborough said of the interrogations. 'We can have that debate.'"

Right wing ditz Elisabeth Hasselbeck gets PWNED by Jesse Ventura on THE VIEW

Right wing ditz Elisabeth Hasselbeck just got PWNED by Jesse "The Body" on THE VIEW. During a discussion on torture Ventura schooled Hasselbeck who tried her best to use the issue to attack Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and of course President Barack Obama. Ventura was having none of it.

We may update this post a few times after watching Ventura's mastery over and over again today.

Conservative POUTRAGE: Elisabeth Hasselbeck demands that Obama condemn Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and others. . .

On THE VIEW today Elisabeth Hasselbeck threw her typical conservative temper tantrum while discussing the war of words between President Obama and the pill popping bigoted conservative mouthpiece Rush Limbaugh. Hasselbeck is POUTRAGED because Obama is not telling Democrats to not listen to MSNBC’Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews.

Excuse us Ms. Hasselbeck, Limbaugh went on record saying that he hoped Obama failed. Did Olbermann and Matthews ever go on record and say that they hope President Bush failed? They may be very critical of Bush but did they ever say they wanted him to fail?

NOPE, there is difference, a big difference between being critical of a president and hoping he fails. Given the over the top knee jerk reactions that the wingnuts had whenever anyone was remotely critical of Bush, Limbaugh’s words could be considered treasonous.

Does anybody remember what happened to the Dixie Chicks?

Hasselbeck and her fellow right wing poutragers need a reality check and they need that reality check quick. She continues her campaign to be the stupidest person on earth.

Live blogging BLAGO on THE VIEW

The show opens without Elisabeth Hasselback, but Barbara Walters appears via satellite. Its unsettling that the producers have put a monitor where she would sit giving the appearance that she is at the table. BTW, Walters teased Blago's appearance. Also Lynn Sweet will be live blogging for the Sun-Times.

10:08AM: Whoopi goes tosses to commercial but teases the upcoming Blago appearance by saying "speaking of integrity and intelligence."

10:11AM: Off topic from THE VIEW but Sweet has posted Oprah's reaction to Blago's saying he wanted to appoint her.

10:12 AM: Walters is introducing Rod, she is "sitting with him" LOL

10:14 AM: Blago claims he was taken out of context when he mentioned Ghandi, King and Mandela.

10:15 AM: Rod--Under no circumstances was I trying to sell a Senate seat

10:16 AM: Walters demands to know if Rod said those things and tells him he might be wasting his time doing media if he doesn't answer the question.

10:17 AM: Walters tells Rod she realizes he won't answers her questions re: selling the Senate seat. Rod keeps talking about when the real story comes out.

10:19 AM: Walters asked Rod where Patti is. She allegedly canceled. Walters read a quote saying that Ald. Mell says Rod uses everyone and implied that is why Patti canceled.

10:20 AM: Rod says Mell's quote was taken out of context. Rod says Patti is home taking care of the kids. Walters says Rod might not like THE VIEW after dealing with the questions thrown at him.

10:24 AM: In defending himself after Walters asked why he wouldn't resign Rod again paints the impeachment as an effort to raise taxes before Memorial Day.

10:29 AM: Sheri asks about the Oprah news and Blago acknowledges he wanted to ask her.

10:29 AM: Joy tells Rod he and Patti are potty mouths and he explains that had he known someone was listening he would not have used language like that. Blames himself for this damaging Patti's reputation.

10:31 AM: Whoopi asks why Rod is handling it the way that he is and says people might not take him seriously.

10:33 AM: Rod talks about how they (the legislature) were threatening impeachment even before the charges.

10:34 AM: Rod is bringing up the 6th Amendment and how he is being denied the right to bring witnesses to prove his innocence.

10:35 AM: Joy asks Rod for his Nixon impression, tells him to say "I am not a crook" he does not take the bait. Rod declares he did nothing wrong the ladies cut him off. Joy plays with his hair. Next up Nancy Grace. . .will she talk about Rod?

Is beleaguered Gov. Blagojevich showing his feminine side?

Sneed hears Blagojevich, who is weighing the possibility of a major media blitz, is keen on appearing on Barbara Walters' hit ABC-TV show "The View" with its all-woman panel.

• • Translation: Word is Gov. Blago, who is being probed by the feds, impeached by the Illinois House and awaiting trial in the state Senate, is considering launching an all-out media attack.

• • The fear: It could backfire. Putting the poetry-spouting governor out to explain "Y" and having it interpreted as "X" could be disastrous.

• • The upshot: "It would be Rod's decision," a source said. "It's his deal."

• • The backshot: "The governor is weighing offers from multiple media sources -- and if he did appear on 'The View,' it would probably be in tandem [contingent?] with an interview on 'Good Morning America,' which is also on ABC-TV and has expressed interest in him appearing on the show," a top source said. "He is weighing his offers."

• • The flipside: A call to ABC-TV "The View" spokesman Karl Nilsson netted this response: "Per our executive producer, we don't discuss our bookings."

• • Translation: Sneed hears there may be a personal reason Blagojevich favors an appearance on the show, which sports an all-female panel monitored by actress/comedian Whoopi Goldberg and includes Elisabeth Hasselbeck, comedian Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd.
