Chicago Sun-Times: Accused by wife of tryst with prostitutes, Skoien doesn’t show up to testify

A domestic battery complaint filed against the wife of former Cook County Republican Party boss Gary Skoien was dismissed today when he didn’t show up in court to testify against her.

Eni Skoien had been charged with beating her husband with her fists and a toy guitar after she allegedly found him with two prostitutes in their Inverness home on March 8.

The misdemeanor charge filed against the 36-year-old Skoien was dropped because her estranged husband was the only witness who could provide information about the alleged attack, prosecutors said.

“Without his testimony, we couldn’t proceed,” Cook County prosecutor Ketki Steffen said. “We have no other witnesses.”

Kinda funny that there’s no outraged rush to the cameras on this one. The Tribune editorial page, which has led the charge against Burris, has been mute. Kass hasn’t come up with any silly nicknames for Skoien like he did with Burris. And there’s been almost total radio silence at the conservative blogs.

Wife catches GOP leader with HOOKERS at their home and proceeds to WHIP HIS A*$ with toy guitar!

We are loving this juicy little tidbit that was just published on the Chicago Tribune's website. Evidently, Gary Skoien who is a GOP committeeman and former Cook County GOP chairman, was beat down by his wife after she caught him with what she believed were two prostitutes at the family home.

A police report refers to the women as prostitutes. But Gary Skoien, Palatine Township GOP committeeman and a former Cook County Republican chairman, disputed the report and said Wednesday he was working to correct it.

Skoien said two female friends were visiting around 1 a.m. Sunday, when his wife, Eni, who had returned home a bit earlier, came downstairs and attacked him.

"I was not in a compromising position other than I had friends over to my house," Skoien said.

The report filed by a Barrington-Inverness police officer says Eni Skoien became angry when she discovered that "Gary was downstairs in the children's playroom with two prostitutes." The report says Eni Skoien picked up a guitar and swung it at her husband and punched him with her fist.

The Chicago Sun-Times has it as well.
