Say what? Megan McCain, Tina Brown and the media think Obama is over exposed?

How can the same media that tells us Michelle Obama's buffed arms are news, tell us the President Obama is over exposed?

By John V. Moore

Last night on Larry King Live, Megan McCain, daughter of Senator John McCain, when prompted by King, expressed concern that President Obama might run the risk of being over exposed.

“I do think that he is at the risk of possibly over exposing himself,” said Megan.

Now think about it, Megan is in the news because she is a blogger who happens to be the daughter of a U.S. Senator that lost the 2008 presidential election to Obama and she happens to be in a very public fight with right wing radio personality Laura Ingraham who called her fat after she wrote a blog post on The Daily Beast calling out right wing hate monger Ann Coulter. The battle recently boiled over when Megan went on THE VIEW and declared that Ingraham can “kiss my fat ass.”

Does anyone see the irony in Megan calling Obama, “over exposed?”

She is not alone, this is a meme that has been getting a lot of traction in the media over the last few days. This morning on MSNBC's MORNING JOE, aka “Bitter People Getting Together Daily To Bitch About Obama” (BPGTDTBAO), Daily Beast publisher Tina Brown had her say.

“Obama I think is getting really over exposed,” said Brown. “I think he is turning into the Paris Hilton of teaching moments.”

The media feels that is necessary to report endlessly on Michelle Obama’s arms or the future First Puppy and essential to, as it does with every POTUS, report on Obama’s every move. Yet when President Obama does a media tour to speak directly to the American people in an effort to create awareness and understanding for his proposed budget as well as to discuss a number of issues that are relevant to people, he runs the risk of being “over exposed.”

Obama appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” last Thursday, “60 Minutes” on Sunday and tonight he is having press a prime time press conference. He is aggressively reaching out to and engaging the public.

This nation is in the middle of a financial crisis, we are fighting two wars and in November we elected a man who promised us change to lead us through this difficult time.

He wants to talk to us, help us understand his agenda and give us confidence in his administration. For some reason the media has a problem with that, they would rather set the agenda and tell us what they think is important, which apparently is Megan McCain and Tina Brown telling us the President of the United States is over exposed.

Note to all designers: Michelle Obama is not OBLIGATED to wear your clothes whenever you expect

Early in the week we learned that the Black Artists Association (BAA) is upset with Michelle Obama for "not wearing anything by an African American designer" during inauguration events last week, now we learn from the Chicago Sun-Times Bill Zwecker that "friends and clients" of Maria Pinto feel the Windy City designer was snubbed and are upset as well.

We are not sure why folks would feel that Mrs. Obama is obligated to wear anyone's fashions. In the case of Pinto, Obama has worn her designs on many occassions, will probably continue to wear her clothes in the future and give the talented Chicago designer well deserved publicity as she has already done. However if Mrs. Obama never ever wears another Pinto outfit she has helped raise the designer's reputation and most likely her bottom line.

As for the BAA, we hope that they understand that the Obamas will be the first family for at least the next four years and there will be many opportunities for the First Lady to wear fashions created by African American designers and we are confident she will.

While the inaugural would have been a great event to have anyone's fashions featured we hope that all designers and their advocates/supporters stop, take a deep breath and let the First Lady make her own fashion choices. We are sure she will give many upcoming talents an opportunity to shine.
