Aaron Schock (R-IL) believes in government run health care. . .for himself!
The fine folks over at Think Progress caught up with Republican Congressman Aaron Schock of Illinois and asked him if he would drop his government sponsored health care despite the fact he will be voting to repeal health care reform for everyday working Americans. He declined.

Chris Reichert intimidates man with Parkinsons, now he is fearful? Believe it
This is just pathetic.
Chris Reichert, who has been identified as the man who taunted a pro-health care reform Parkinsons patient in Columbus recently, has been desribed by the Columbus Dispatch as "fearful for his family after reading caustic comments about his actions on the
Internet."
First of all lets be clear, no one should be making any threats against Reichert, none whatsoever.
While his behavior last week was shameful, decent people do themselves a diservice when they respond with threats of violence, decent people sink to his level when they do this.
Hopefully, Reichert and the other idiots engaging in this horrific behavior will understand that their actions have consequences.
Does Reichert deserve our pity? Hell no! Does he deserve public scorn and ridicule? Hell yes! But lets stop very, very, very far short of resorting to attacks on his wife and children and any threats of violence.

As a journalist covering Chicago politics, verifying information is like climbing a mountain of sand. With each step you take, the deeper you sink.
Last week while researching claims from a local Tea Party activist, I found myself asking a family for proof that they had lost an unborn grandchild.
The family, Dan and Midge Hough, of Chicago, spoke in favor of health care reform and in support of U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-3rd) at a Nov. 14 town hall meeting in Oak Lawn.
Their daughter-in-law, Jenny, and an unborn grandchild died recently due in part, they believe, to a lack of health insurance. They said Jenny was not receiving regular prenatal care and ended up in an emergency room with double pneumonia that developed into septic shock. Her baby died in the womb, and Jenny died a few weeks later, leaving behind a husband and a 2-year-old daughter.
Catherina Wojtowicz, of Chicago's Mount Greenwood community, an organizer for a Tea Party splinter group, Chicago Tea Party Patriots, falsely claimed that the Houghs fabricated their story. In an e-mail, she called them operatives of President Barack Obama who "go from event to event and (cry) the same story."

Biting one's nose off to spite one's face?
It's hard to believe that someone who is unemployed, needing a shoulder surgery and was just quoted a $3,166.00 monthly premium from Blue Cross/Blue Shield would be firmly against a public option, but this morning the SouthtownStar introduces us to Mary Jo Toscano who despite everything says "I don't have enough specifics to say that I'm happy. Without knowing the specifics of the public plan, I would rather go through my employer."
First of all someone should point out to Ms. Toscano that she currently has no employer and that under a "public option" she would have access to insurance at much less than the $3,166.00 she was quoted. Additionally, if she finds a job her new employer might not provide her with the same quality of coverage she was recieving before she lost her job.

Administration officials mused this weekend about surrendering the public option and giving into the insurance industry. Gabe Gonzalez muses on what a sad move this would be.
I watched the news shows last Sunday, and like everybody, I saw the trial balloons being floated by the Administration around health co-ops. Like many involved in this struggle, I watched with some dismay as it appeared the President backed off his commitment to a public plan. And I kept thinking about my last trip to the hospital, just the week before.
I was visiting my mom. It wasn't a big deal, scheduled surgery on her knee. She's doing fine, but while I was in her room I saw an amazing discussion between her and her nursing aide.
People talk a lot to their aides. They count on them. Aides provide comfort and help. And sometimes they need help, too. This particular aide found out that my mother used to work for the Employment Department. Very quickly, the aide asked mom if she knew about other state programs. When mom answered yes, she asked about support for poor families, specifically, amazingly, she asked about Medicaid. Who was eligible, how you got it, and whether the aide, a mother of two, the only breadwinner in the house, qualified.
My mom was taken aback. This woman worked at a hospital after all. Mom asked about professional courtesy, asked about income and other supports, and then, quietly, but with some determination, told the aide how to get the help she needed for her two boys.

One sight was perhaps a little un-nerving to those in charge of making sure everybody remains on their best behavior.
A man, who decided not to give his name, was walking around the pro-health care reform rally at 3rd and Washington streets, with a pistol on his hip, and an AR-15 (a semi-automatic assault rifle) on a strap over his shoulder.
"Because I can do it," he said when asked why he was armed. "In Arizona, I still have some freedoms."
Two police officers were staying very close to the man.
"What he is doing is perfectly legal," Detective J. Oliver, of the Phoenix police department said. "We are here to keep the peace. If we need to intervene, we will intervene at that time."

. . .harass him. He also dared Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer to come to his house and call his son "un-American."
You got to see the this FOX NEWS clip, it is absolutely ridiculous. No one should be going to his house and harassing him, but his threatening of lethal force is inexcusable. FOX NEWS and the right wing echo chamber won't be happy until someone dies.
