President Obama should call Bristol Palin per her request and say. . .

Huffington Post and other media outlets are reporting that Bristol Palin feels that President Obama should call her or her mother just like he did Sandra Fluke after she was attacked by Rush Limbaugh. I agree. I have provided the following script for him:

"Hello Bristol, I wanted to call you and offer my encouragement to you. Since your mom is one of the most divisive people who has done everything in her power to divide us, your family has had to deal with some ugly things said about them, similar to the ugly things she has said about my family.

You became a target when you decided to exploit her notoriety to seek fame for than the fact that you are single mother with a jerk of baby daddy and famous mom. What has been said about you is awful. I appreciate your frustration, as you can imagine Michelle and I have had many folks, say ugly things about us, we can understand your frustration. However we understood that when we chose to be in the public eye, we were opening ourselves up to that.

Many young single mothers work hard, go to school and provide loving homes for their children without being made fun of by comedians. I should point out that these single mothers don't seek fame like you do. They don't act as spokespersons for abstinence campaigns, they don't go on Dancing With The Stars, they don't write books and they don't do reality shows. They just want to provide for their children.

I agree that we need to start treating people, especially those we don't agree with, better. You could start by telling your mom to shut up."

Rush Limbaugh: 'How Many People Really Think Of Obama As Black?' (AUDIO)

As someone who grew up being called an OREO, ridiculed by both Black and white folks, and questionin­g where I belonged, this just hurts. Fortunatel­y for every asshole I encountere­d growing up and in college, I was graced with so many supportive and understand­ing friends, not to mention a strong and loving immediate/­extended family.



Rush Limbaugh needs to be condemned and condemned loudly for this shit. The problem is his audience applauds this and no Republican­s/conserva­tives would dare call him out because they pander to, and in some cases agree with, those very racists he calls his audience. He will most likely pay no price for this.



This shit is so damaging to children/y­oung adults as their identities are being shaped. For a while I even found myself picking on others in the same manner in an attempt to belong. Rush Limbaugh is an absolute piece of crap.

Let’s be clear, Rush was rejected by his kind, a bunch of “rich white guys”

Sure Reverends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton threatened to raise hell if the investors group Rush Limbaugh was part of was allowed to purchase the St. Louis Rams, the NFL Players Association spoke out against his bid and a number of African American players said they wouldn’t play for him, but at the end of the day he was not rejected by them, he was rejected by a bunch of “rich white guys.”

Rush wants you to think he is a victim and it’s a rejection of his conservative politics, but this is not about politics, this is about bigotry and business. The other “rich white guys” rejected Limbaugh’s special brand of racism, homophobia and misogyny and know that it is bad for business. Limbaugh’s mistake was thinking that other “rich white guys” would embrace his bigotry or at the least they would ignore it.

Before blaming liberals, minorities, women, the LGBT community and the media, Limbaugh needs to accept the fact that they (we) did not make the decision to prevent him from owning an NFL franchise. They (we) don’t have that power.

Limbaugh’s first call should be to his partner in the deal, “rich white guy” Dave Checketts, who made the decision to dump him from the group. Checketts had the opportunity to say “Rush, forget the haters I got your back, we are going to forge ahead and win this bid. Don’t you worry, after all we are ‘rich white guys.’”

Instead Checketts effectively said “look man, you aren’t worth the trouble. Besides most of us ‘rich white’ guys don’t think like you.”

Checketts made his decision because he knew that other “rich white guys,” including NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay, were opposed to Limbaugh being part of the group bidding on the Rams.

I don’t blame Limbaugh for being upset and feeling betrayed. I am sure he is friendly with a lot of NFL owners, many of who share his conservative political ideology. They most likely run into each other at airports as they land or take off in their private jets, they probably share luxury suites at sporting events and they probably dine together at swanky restaurants. Some (NOT ALL) of them might have even sent him a complimentary note or two telling him how funny it is when he calls President Obama a “Halfrican American” or “Barack the Magic Negro.”

While I mentioned some owners share Limbaugh’s views, it would be negligent of me not to acknowledge the good guys like Goodel, Irsay and Dan Rooney of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have worked hard to make sure that the league leads by example when it comes to diversity and social responsibility.

Limbaugh probably thought the other NFL owners would have his back, after all they have the whole “rich white guy” thing in common. But unlike Limbaugh, they know that if they want to remain rich Limbaugh is someone that they cannot afford to do business with.

Bigot Limbaugh proves us right on his reaction to bus attack

This morning at 11:08 AM in an OpEd on this blog regarding the bus attack outside of St. Louis I wrote:

I hope I am wrong but within the next day this clip could end up in heavy rotation on FOX NEWS, quickly followed by CNN (Lou Dobbs will have a hard time leaving it alone) and eventually MSNBC. Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and others on hate, er uh, talk radio will declare that in the age of Obama white kids can’t get on a bus without being attacked by a group of savage Black students.

Well Media Matters is reporting the following:

Limbaugh: "[I]n Obama's America, the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering"

Sadly, I was right when I predicted this. It is amazing how accurate I was. If I tell you there is cheese on the moon grab your crackers.

Just an FYI per the St. Louis Post-Dispatch the police are now saying: UPDATED, 11:35 a.m. with police captain backtracking on whether attack was racially motivated.

Boss Limbaugh BUILT his career by being a divisive, bigoted, demagogue, those offended by Wanda Sykes jokes should get over it

This morning America awoke to criticism that comedian Wanda Sykes crossed a line when she joked that Rush (Boss) Limbaugh was “the 20th hijacker” during Saturday night’s White House Correspondents Dinner.



Looking for and manufacturing controversy where one does not exist is an unfortunate practice of many in the mainstream media, talk radio and the blogosphere. Dealing with issues such as the economy, health care and other things impacting Americans on a daily basis must be too bothersome.

Folks like Mike Lupica of the New York Daily News and the London Daily Telegraph’s Toby Harnden have taken Sykes to task and some have even called out President Obama for laughing at the joke. One can only wonder how much time cable news will dedicate to this manufactured controversy and whether or not White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs will be bombarded with questions about it during his next briefing.

While Lupica acknowledges that, “Limbaugh is another gasbag in this country who has gotten rich on meanness,” he also asks what would happen if Limbaugh dared to cross the line with jokes that Sykes is “half-a-terrorist?”

Well Mr. Lupica the answer is: he would and has already become a mega-rich, influential power broker that no Republican would dare cross.

Limbaugh will most likely respond to Sykes today so lets see if he “keeps it classy.” The speculative moral equivalency about what would happen if Limbaugh did the same thing is BULLS@&T!

For the last two decades he has DONE THE SAME THING and has gotten rich and famous as a result. This behavior has become so accepted that he has inspired other divisive, bigoted, demagogues like Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Michael Savage who have also laughed all the way to the bank.

For years Limbaugh and his ilk have had no problem calling folks they don’t agree with un-American, socialists, fascists, feminazis, etc. They also rail against political correctness run amok, HOWEVER whenever anyone swings back and lands a punch they scream bloody murder.

As for President Obama laughing at a joke about a man who calls him an Halfrican American, Barack the Magic Negro and has wished that he will fail? Get over it and get a life . . .Boss Limbaugh had it coming.

Steele to Limbaugh: Yessir Massa Rush, I didn’t mean to do you no harm

While some will push back and tell us there are no racial overtones in the verbal undressing of Republican National Committee Chair-puppet Michael Steele by pill-popping bigot Rush Limbaugh, we beg to differ.

As the first African American elected to head the party, which is considered racist by many, Steele’s role has a lot of racial symbolism attached to it.

After promising to make the party appeal to the “hip hop” crowd, which was roundly mocked, Steele finally appeared to be getting his footing with impressive appearances during the “State of the Black Union” and CNN’s “D.L. Hughley Breaks the News.”

When Hughley mentioned that Rush was the de facto leader of the GOP, Steele corrected him and declared he was the head of the party. He went further by calling Rush’s declaration that he wanted President Obama to fail “incendiary” and “ugly.”

But then the bloviating blowhard responded.

“It's time, Mr. Steele, for you to go behind the scenes and start doing the work that you were elected to do instead of trying to be some talking head media star, which you're having a tough time pulling off,” wailed Boss Rush. “But it seems to me that it's Michael Steele who is off to a shaky start.”

Rush, where is the respect that should be afforded to the man elected to head the RNC?

Steele, like others have done recently, quickly apologized and proved Hugley’s point.

Everyone is watching Steele’s stint as head of the GOP, African Americans in particular are paying close attention to how he handles the issue of race and how the party responds to him. He doesn’t need to be a militant Black man, he just needs to command respect.

Steele had a very good weekend, he appeared in two settings that allowed him to present his case to African Americans and did so effectively. Even some progressives considered it refreshing. His “real talk” about the GOP, race and where he would like to take the party won him some respect from many who felt he was nothing but a mere puppet.

Rush’s response to Steele reminded us of a slave master or a Jim Crow era sheriff who would say to any Black man who they felt got out of line “Say boy, shut up and sit down. Be a good little darkie and know your place.”

Steele should have channeled Sidney Poitier in “In the Heat of the Night” and declared “they call me Mr. Steele!” , but instead he caved and might as well have said “Yessir Massa Rush, I didn’t mean to do you no harm.”

Michael Steele you have lost the respect of very people you were trying to win over.

Poll: Pill popping bigot Limbaugh more unpopular than Jeremiah Wright & William Ayers

Thank God for writers like Max Blumental who writes in the Daily Beast that according to a poll from October of 2008 pill popping bigot Rush Limbaugh had higher negative ratings than both Rev. Jeremiah Wright and professor William Ayers. As you recall both Wright and Ayers were dragged through the mud in attempt to taint Barack Obama. Limbaugh was one who led those efforts, oh the irony.

Republicans who have turned to Rush Limbaugh to lead the fight against President Obama may have backed the wrong horse. According to one recent poll, Limbaugh turns out to be one of the most unpopular political figures in the country.

An October 24, 2008, poll conducted by the Democratic research firm Greenberg-Quinlan-Rosner has Rush Limbaugh enjoying a public-approval rating of just 21 percent among likely voters, while 58 percent have “cold” feelings toward the right-wing radio-talk-show host. Limbaugh’s cold rating was higher than that of all the political figures the firm polled. It was seven points higher than Rev. Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright and eight points higher than former Weather Underground domestic terrorist William Ayers. (As the firm points out in an email, it’s true that Wright and Ayers both had lower “warm” ratings than Limbaugh—as you’d expect for men who have virtually no constituencies.)

Limbaugh is so unpopular that only 44 percent of Republican voters reported “warm” feelings toward him, ten points less than those who felt the same way about Limbaugh’s top competitor, Fox News’ Sean Hannity, and a full 20 points lower than Fox News itself. Yet in spite of rock-bottom favorable numbers, Limbaugh confidently declared one week after Obama’s inauguration that his power far exceeded that of the Republican Party’s top two leaders in the Senate and House of Representatives. Obama, Limbaugh roared, is “obviously more frightened of me than he is Mitch McConnell. He's more frightened of me, than he is of, say, John Boehner, which doesn't say much about our party.”

Obama seems unfazed by El Rushbo. The president recently implored Republican leaders, “You can’t listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done.”

Conservative POUTRAGE: Elisabeth Hasselbeck demands that Obama condemn Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and others. . .

On THE VIEW today Elisabeth Hasselbeck threw her typical conservative temper tantrum while discussing the war of words between President Obama and the pill popping bigoted conservative mouthpiece Rush Limbaugh. Hasselbeck is POUTRAGED because Obama is not telling Democrats to not listen to MSNBC’Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews.

Excuse us Ms. Hasselbeck, Limbaugh went on record saying that he hoped Obama failed. Did Olbermann and Matthews ever go on record and say that they hope President Bush failed? They may be very critical of Bush but did they ever say they wanted him to fail?

NOPE, there is difference, a big difference between being critical of a president and hoping he fails. Given the over the top knee jerk reactions that the wingnuts had whenever anyone was remotely critical of Bush, Limbaugh’s words could be considered treasonous.

Hasselbeck and her fellow right wing poutragers need a reality check and they need that reality check quick. She continues her campaign to be the stupidest person on earth.

The REMARKABLE thing about Obama telling the GOP "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh ..."

Is that none of this country's "alleged patriots" (Hannity, O'Reilly, Beck, Savage, Dobbs, et al) have called Limbaugh out as anti-American we he declared on January 16 that he wants Obama to fail. Can you imagine the backlash if Keith Olbermann, Whoopie Goldberg or the Dixie Chicks had said what Limbaugh said about Obama about George Bush?

The hypocrisy of the "alleged patriots" is just appalling. The fact that Sean Hannity did not jump down Limbaugh's throat the minute he said what he said shows you how insincere and fake these guys really are.

Meanwhile for folks who thought that Obama was too nice to fight, it appears he is not afraid to pick a fight with the far right's biggest dog. GOBAMA!
