Justice Department files lawsuit against Philadelphia swim club that kicked kids of color out

The US Justice Department announced that is has filed suit against Valley Club of Huntingdon Valley, PA, which made headlines last summer after it was accused of racial discrimination for revoking the membership of a day camp whose participants were mostly African American and Hispanic.

The suit alleges that the club "adopted a racially-discriminatory policy to bar summer camps from using its facilities after a group of predominantly African-American school children visited the facility."

Athletic Business reports that in November the club planned to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
