New Jersey gov. tries to woo Illinois businesses
February 4, 2011 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- Weeks after launching an advertising campaign to lure Illinois companies out of state, the governor of New Jersey visited Chicago to personally invite business leaders east.
They have "The Sopranos." We've got Oprah.
They have the Giants. We've got the Bears.
When it comes to competing tax rates, however, New Jersey's governor says fughettaboutit. . .
"In New Jersey, they can be certain that over the next three years their taxes aren't going to go up," said New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. "And in Illinois over the next three years, they can be certain their taxes will go up."
