Is Bristol Palin making a lesbian joke by mentioning k.d. Lang & Indigo girls in Facebook reply to Margaret Cho?

Not to sure why Bristol Palin brings up k.d. lang & the Indigo Girls in her response to Margaret Cho's claim that her mom, Sarah Palin, made her appear on Dancing With the Stars, unless of course she is trying to start some crap.

Bristol writes on Facebook:

To my friend Margaret Cho, if you ever have a question, call me girlfriend. Don't ever rely on "sources" who claim to know me or my family. You will be taken every time. And we need to talk. You say you "don't agree with the family's politics at all" but I say, if you understood that commonsense conservative values supports the right of individuals like you, like all of us, to live our lives with less government interference and more independence, you would embrace us faster than KD Lang at an Indigo Girls concert.

Hmmmm. What are your thoughts?

Much like parents try to relate to their kids by using language they might use, I think Bristol was trying to relate to Margaret Cho. I don't think any disrespect was intended.

I'm not sure how to read this since I don't watch DWTS and am unaware of their relationship, however, it just seems odd. I haven't seen many conservative values that support the rights of individuals unless they approve of them. But I do think people give them and issues like this too much attention (grin).
